I painted this during an oil painting retreat at the Capitol Reef Field Station in late spring of 2025. The focus of this retreat was centered around learning plein air painting. I greatly benefitted from the mentorship of Kirk Henrichsen who is a talented artist and always get kind and helpful critiques of my paintings. I painted several pictures during the retreat, this one was my favorite.
